Just released: The Memory Keepers: The Choosing.
Before written history, there were memory keepers and shamans. These men and women kept the history of their tribes alive, protected them from harm, and did the magic to bring rain, crops, a good hunt, and abundance to the clan. The called upon the Gods and the spirits of the four elements and all that made up the spirit world to survive.
The tribe lives in a time of change, drought, famine, and magic.
This is the story of Mondoani, a young girl who becomes the clan’s memory keeper upon the death of the old mother.
It will become her responsibility to lead the tribe across the dead lands and snowy plains to their winter home along the sea. But before she can accomplish that she must choose an apprentice from among the young girls and women.
Their world is a place where both the spirits and the Gods walk and the past comes alive to help guide her.
Will Mondoani’s youth and inexperience condemn the tribe to death or will she rise above it and with the help of the magical world choose correctly?
The Choosing; is the first in the Memory Keepers, series. They are novelettes written for the enjoyment of those who prefer a short story or don't have time for a full length novel.
I was so lucky to be able to get an advanced copy of Ellen Dye’s newest book, Ending Up, due out shortly. It is a fascinating story of one woman’s plight to overcome her upbringing and her recent divorce only to find that the place she ran from as a young woman held the best of all futures for her.
Ms. Dye created a lovely book that is sure to charm and enchant other readers as it did me. Her characters have depth and the situations could be written from my life or yours. For who among us isn’t looking for Mr. or Ms. Right? This is not just another romance novel, it is a witty, delightful read that will surely have you laughing, crying, and wondering what comes next.
Ellen Dye has a rare talent for creating characters and plots. I for one will look for more of her work.
I highly recommend Ending Up.
